The EML4 FISH Probe is designed to detect the human EML4 gene located on chromosome band 2p21. EML4 is also known as C2orf2DKFZp686P18118ELP120EMAP-4EMAPL4FLJ10942FLJ32318 or ROPP120.

The EML4 FISH probe is labeled with CytoGreen. CytoGreen is a fluorophore with an excitation peak at 495nm and emission peak at 518nm, giving it a green fluorescent signal with the appropriate filters.

The
EML4 FISH probe hybridizes to chromosome 2 in both metaphase and interphase cells. After hybridizing with normal human peripheral blood lymphocyte samples, two distinct fluorescent spots are observed in the interphase nuclei, each spot corresponding to the 2p21 region on the chromosome 2. In metaphase cells, a “doublet” or “split signal” may appear on chromosomal region 2p21. Each signal within the doublet represents one of the two sister chromatids present in the replicated chromosome 2.
